The City of Seabrook will be providing two sessions of swim lessons this summer at Pelican Bay Pool. Each session includes 40-minute swim lessons at both beginner and intermediate levels. Participants must be between the ages of 4 years and 11 years of age.
SWIM LESSONS FOR THE 2023 SEASON WILL BE OPEN FOR REGISTRATION ON MAY 15TH.
REGISTRATION FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE WHILE THERE ARE OPENINGS FOR CLASSES
DUE TO LIMITED AVAILABILITY, ALL REGISTRATION FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED WITH PAYMENT TO CITY HALL, IN PERSON, BY JUNE 13TH FOR SESSION 1 OR JULY 11TH FOR SESSION 2.
Submerge face in the water; blow bubbles; float on stomach and back; bob; kick with support while on the back and on the stomach. Jump into water in shallow end; submerge entire head; roll over from back to stomach and stomach to back; stomach and back glide from wall; retrieve objects from shallow end; flutter kick using kickboard; change direction while using kickboard; move in the water using combined arm and leg action on both stomach and back; safety rules.
Jump into deep water and return to the edge; rhythmic bob; retrieve an object from 6 to 7 feet deep; stomach and back glide; flutter kick for the width of the pool using a kickboard; front crawl breathing. Stroke fundamentals (each for the width of the pool): front crawl, back crawl, and elementary backstroke. Tread water in 6-7 feet of water; dive from a kneeling position; safety rules.
