OPEN SPACE AND TRAILS COMMITTEE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE OPEN SPACE AND TRAILS COMMITTEE OF THE CITY OF SEABROOK WILL MEET ON THURSDAY, MAY 2, 2019 AT 5:00 P.M. AT SEABROOK CITY HALL, 1700 1ST STREET, SEABROOK, TEXAS, TO DISCUSS AND CONSIDER THE AGENDA ITEMS LISTED BELOW.

ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT A SEABROOK CITY COUNCIL MEETING, MEMBERS OF THIS BODY MAY ATTEND AND A QUORUM OF THIS BODY MAY BE PRESENT.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

At this time we would like to listen to any member of the audience on any subject matter, whether or not that item is on the agenda.  All comments are limited to a maximum of four minutes for each speaker, shall be limited to city business or city-related business or matters of general public interests, and shall not include any personal attacks.  In accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, members may not discuss or take action on any item that has not been posted on the agenda.  When your name is called, please state your name and address clearly before making your comments.  Thank you.

OLD BUSINESS

3.1 Discuss and take all appropriate action pursuant to the motion made and approved at the Joint City Council/Open Space & Trails meeting on March 26, 2019 to move forward with the creation of a Carothers Task Force of no more than seven (7) people consisting of a real estate professional, a parks professional, a landscape/plants professional, a member or members of the Open Space and Trails Committee, and a member or members of City Council or City staff to be tasked with
  • determining through a real estate professional the value of the property and the process for selling only the building at Carothers Coastal Gardens;
  • opening the property between Carothers and Pine Gully Park and making the park section of Carothers accessible to the public
  • determining potential options for the use of Carothers Coastal Gardens, should selling the building be found to be prohibitive
  • being mindful of the amount of staff time it would take to carry out any and/or all options

4.1 Update on recent and ongoing park activities and improvements from Committee members, and park reports from Committee Park Checks. (Committee)

4.3 Discussion and approval of the Action Item Checklist. (Committee)
