Resisting Arrest Charge

Seabrook Police Department Vehicle

On Monday, July 16, 2018, at approximately 10:02 p.m., an off-duty Seabrook police officer requested assistance with several individuals inside a closed apartment complex swimming pool, located at the 2800 block of NASA Parkway in Seabrook, Texas.

The officer approached the group of individuals at the pool on behalf of the apartment’s management. The officer informed the individuals that the pool was closed and requested identification from the individuals who had jumped the locked pool’s fence.

A young male attempted to leave without providing identification so the officer presented his police badge and instructed the subject to identify himself again. The subject still refused so the officer attempted to detain the subject. The subject resisted and initiated a physical altercation with the officer. Several apartment residents called the Seabrook Police Department requesting assistance for the officer at that time.

The subject has been identified as 21-year-old Jonathan Johnson and has since been arrested by the Seabrook Police Department and charged with resisting arrest by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
