Seabrook Rotary Announces Police Officer of the Year

On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, the Seabrook Rotary recognized Seabrook Police Detective Larry Moore as their Officer of the Year recipient.  The announcement was made at the 25th Annual Men Who Cook event held at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas. The Seabrook Police Officer of the Year recognition by the Rotary includes a $1,000.00 award.


Detective Larry Moore has been a police officer with the City of Seabrook for a little over 26 years.  He is married and has three children, one of whom is currently serving in the United States Army.  He also serves as the current President of the Seabrook Police Officers Association. Larry puts hard work and skill into every case he investigates. Larry treats all cases he works equally and gives 100 percent effort regardless of the complaint or seriousness of the crime.  


Detective Moore’s dedication and commitment to the job allowed him to recently close a cold case involving the death of a child.  In reference to the cold case closure, Detective Moore’s supervisor, Detective Sergeant William Haskett stated, “I strongly believe that the Victim’s family and the City of Seabrook have a resolution to this case because of Larry’s experience, skill and all around work ethic”.


In response to his award, Detective Moore stated that he “Enjoys the job and working for Seabrook”.
