PRESENTATIONS

Moment of Silence for Kemah Police Chief, Chris Reed
Mayor Kolupski asked for a moment of silence in memory of Kemah Police Chief, Chris Reed, who had such a wide-reaching and long-lasting positive influence on Seabrook and surrounding communities.
 
Recognition of Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) Teacher of the Year
The City Council honored CCISD Teacher of the Year, Lyzette Ruiz, a kindergarten teacher at Ed White Elementary School with a proclamation to commemorate outstanding achievements during her career with CCISD.

RESOLUTIONS

The following resolutions were reviewed and City Council took action as follows:

Resolution 2019-14, "Amending Community Development and Residential and Commercial Construction Fees".
Council unanimously approved Resolution 2019-14, which establishes a new formula for determining construction fees, based on square footage, rather than valuation, in compliance with recently passed legislation HB 2439, signed by the Governor on June 14, 2019.
 
Resolution 2019-15, “Authorization for Acquisition of Property for Further Development of Old Seabrook”.
The City Council unanimously approved Resolution 2019-15 to enable the purchase of property at 1110 Hall Street in Old Seabrook for further development of the area.  The City and the Seabrook Economic Development Corporation have entered into a funding agreement for the purchase of this property, in the amount of $189,000.00.


CONTRACTS & AGREEMENTS

The following items were discussed and reviewed:

Economic Development Agreement with Clay Cat Studios
Council unanimously approved an extension of the project completion date for Clay Cat Studios from June 21, 2019, to October 21, 2019, to facilitate site improvements of a retail shop located at 1501 Main Street, Seabrook, Texas.  


ADDITIONAL ITEMS

Final Acceptance of Infrastructure – Ashley Oaks Subdivision
The City Council unanimously approved the final acceptance of the street, water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer infrastructure that has been dedicated by the developer of the new Ashley Oaks residential subdivision for public use and maintenance.
 
Purchase of Material for Tribute to Chris Reed
Council unanimously approved the purchase of a granite slab to be engraved in tribute to Kemah Police Chief, Chris Reed, at the Bay Area Veterans' Memorial.
 
Allocation of Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds for FY 2019/2020
Council unanimously approved the allocation of HOT funds for FY 2019/2020 as follows:

The next City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at Seabrook City Hall Council Chambers.
