Let's Plant Some Trees Seabrook!

Every January, the Open Space and Trails Committee works with the city’s Public Works Department to plant trees all around Seabrook. This year, the Apache Corporation has generously donated 150 five-gallon trees to the City of Seabrook for their parks, open spaces and trails. Trees beautify our neighborhoods, give shade to our hiking trails and provide habitats for wildlife.

On Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. our Open Space and Trails Committee and Public Works Department along with volunteers from the community will join forces to help plant these trees throughout the community.

We welcome anyone who would like to volunteer to help plant these trees. If you are interested in helping please arrive at the new Public Works Complex located at 1100 Red Bluff Road in Seabrook by 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will gather at the Fire Training Grounds adjacent to the complex and will receive a brief 101 on how to plant the trees. Volunteers are encouraged to bring shovels and gloves and to wear appropriate attire.

The trees donated by the Apache Corporation will be well suited for our area and include Live, Nuttal, Overcup, Shumard and White Oak as well as Pecan, Cypress and even Black Gum Tupelo to name a few of the species.

The Apache Corporation is an oil and gas exploration and production company with operations in the United States, Egypt, and the United Kingdom. As a cornerstone of Apache’s community outreach and giving efforts, the tree grant program has donated more than 4-million trees to nonprofits across 17 states since its launch in 2005.
