Bruce and Jenny Arunyon, along with Joe Ferella, worked diligently to make the Bay Area Veterans Memorial a reality. After searching the entire region, the Arunyons discovered that the Clear Lake region did not have a veterans' memorial. Many traveled to Houston to visit memorials, so as residents of Seabrook, they felt Seabrook would make the perfect location for the Bay Area Veterans Memorial. The Arunyons and Ferella designed the entire memorial, including additional construction phases, and held countless fundraisers to help fund the project.
