Residential Garbage Service

The City of Seabrook contracts with Waste Management for trash and recycling services.  Waste Management uses Automated Side Loader (ASL) trucks for residential waste and recycling collection. These trucks are fully automated, safer and quieter for more dependable, reliable recycling cart service. We will also be offering a new, exciting service called At Your Door, which will allow you to properly dispose of difficult, sometimes hazardous, and hard-to-recycle items.

Enhanced Recycling Carts

Residential utility customers receive a 96-gallon rolling recycling cart. This cart is almost identical to your trash cart, however, it has a YELLOW lid that will identify it as recycling.

Please place all recyclables inside the green cart with yellow lid. Recyclables should be loose inside the cart, not bagged. Additional recyclables outside the cart will not be serviced. Existing recycling bins will not be picked up and can be used as a personal bin in the garage or utility room.

Please have your waste and recycling at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on our collection day(s).

Please place all recyclables inside the green cart with yellow lid. Recyclables should be loose inside the cart, not bagged. Additional recyclables outside the cart will not be serviced. Existing recycling bins will not be picked up and can be used as a personal bin in the garage or utility room.

The lid must be securely closed. This ensures that litter is not blown in your neighborhood and that all disposed items are secure. No waste or recyclables left outside your cart will be collected. Bulk, yard trimmings, or excess waste will be collected on your scheduled bulk collection day. Please refer to our interactive Google map.

Diagram of distance bins should be from street and curb

Carts must be placed 5 feet from any obstructions, such as vehicles, mailboxes, meter boxes, cable boxes, or trees - and within 1 foot of the curb. The optimal placement is on the curb. But, we understand that in some areas, the carts must be placed on the street or alleys. Carts must be placed 2 – 3 feet apart to allow for the automated arm to service them.

No hazardous waste in carts. To schedule a pickup or for information, please contact Waste Management at 800-449-7587, e-mail At Your Door, or visit the website.

Bulk pick up happens on your scheduled collection day, with a limit of two (2) items. Moving boxes must be broken down and put out on this day. Bulk trash consists of appliances, furniture, mattresses, carpet, (cut in 4-foot length), lawn mowers, etc. Appliances that contain refrigerant must be drained and tagged by a certified refrigerant recycler prior to disposal.

Yard trimmings are considered bulk and are not to exceed two (2) cubic bags per week. For the safety and protection of our employees and equipment, we do require that branches and tree trimmings be no greater than six inches (6”) in diameter and be cut, tied and bundled in four foot (4’) lengths weighing no more than forty to fifty pounds (40-50 lbs.) Do not obstruct the collection of carts or bulk items by parking vehicles in the vicinity. Keep area clear for easy access by collection truck.

When Seabrook residents use Recycle Often Recycle Right, great things happen. By recycling everyday items like those shown below, tons of raw materials, time, energy, and money are saved. The recycled materials become new products. If you recycle an aluminum can today, it could be back at the store as a new one in 60 days.

  • Recyclables go in the green cart with the YELLOW
    lid.
  • Only place acceptable recyclables - no sorting needed.
  • Containers should be rinsed and free of food and liquid.
  • Do not put recyclables in plastic bags.

Recycling will be collected once-a-week. Please see the map for more information.

  • Junk mail, office and school paper, phone books, books, catalogs, magazines and newspapers
