Tropical Weather Advisory

Nicholas Advisory 1: 10AM Sunday

The Seabrook Office of Emergency Management is closely monitoring the tropical weather outlook as Tropical Storm Nicholas develops in the Gulf of Mexico. Tropical Storm Nicholas is expected to make landfall south of Galveston near Matagorda Bay. The storm is expected to strengthen over the Gulf of Mexico, and there is an increasing risk of storm surge, rainfall, and wind impacts along portions of the Texas coast.

Now is the time to make sure you have an emergency plan and supplies in place. 

  • Sign up to receive Seabrook Alerts at and frequently check the city’s website at for updates.

  • Make a plan and include all emergency contact information in your plan. (use the form in this document)

  • Ensure you have a 3 to 5-day supply of food and water.

  • Have enough medications and refills to last you throughout the week and weekend.

  • Consider your pets and make sure you have food for them too.

  • Flashlights, batteries, and a tool kit may come in handy.

  • Have all your toiletries and a first aid kit readily available.

  • Secure patio furniture and/or remove objects that may be impacted by high winds and heavy rain.

  • Secure your boats if docked on the water.
