Mayor & City Council
City Council meetings are held at City Hall at 1700 1st Street on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Council agendas are posted on this website and the bulletin boards at City Hall at least 72 hours before meetings, as required by the Texas Open Meetings Act.
Council members are elected at large and serve the entire city, not a geographic precinct, for 4-year terms. The mayor pro tem is appointed annually by fellow Council members. City Council positions are not full-time jobs.
